I’m 17 years old and am 5’6. Will HGH injections increase my height by a few inches? ?
My mom is 5’4 and my dad is 5’7. I think my genetic growing potential is pretty much complete. I have been doing alot of research and have come across HGH injections. If anyone is knowledable about HGH injections, please share your insight.

With so many other things to worry about in your life, you should just work on being happy with who you are and not try to change how tall you are. Don’t worry about it and enjoy life!

Honestly, if you inject your self with HGH, the negatives will outweigh any positive which could come of it in most cases. HGH does affect bone development, but the results of a few injections will probably be negligible, therepy is a lengthy process that is administered over a long period of time. Also, in some studies HGH has been shown to thicken bone tissue rather than stimulate bone growth in terms of length. Also, increased levels of GH can lead to issues later in life, and even as a child. Your body is producing a lot of GH as you are growing. By adding more to the body you may cause an excess of GH in your body, so any injections need to be monitored by a healthcare professional. You should consult your pediatrician who will refer you to some kind of orthopedist if they feel it is necessary. Consult your doctor is you are truly concerned, they will make the decision which is best for you! Your parents are not very tall so genetically speaking you will probably be around their heights too. There is no way to ignore this obvious fact, but you still may grow taller.
The problem is that HGH only works in the way that you want it to when you’re still naturally growing. At 17, you’re pretty close to done. In the studies that were done *on children* , they were taking injections for 4 years and only averaged about 1.5 inches of extra growth. Look at the side effects and the cost–it’s not going to be worth it. Invest in some shoes with lifts.
You will have a much better life if you work on your brain rather than your appearance.
HGH is relatively safe, and NOT a steroid, as the previous poster implied. HGH is replacement therapy for persons who have a genetic deficiently of their own actual growth hormone.
That said, your actual potential for growth is 68″, meaning you’ve got another two inches to go. (id est, mother’s height plus five inches plus father’s height = 136″ / 2 = 68″)
Well if HGH really made you grow tall shouldn’t everyone be tall think about it if anything you will be your dads height at the most so just be happy with the way you are you could be worse off.
