It’s funny, the Obesity Research Institute (Lipozene manufacturers) paid a large settlement in response to the Federal Trade Commission accusations of false and misleading statements (clinically proven). Basically, they were saying, “STFU FTC, we’re raking in money.” I’ve read that there is no real scientific basis for their claims. Awesome!

The diet pill that is supposed to reduce belly fat? Does it work when used with healthy diet?

Best answer:

Answer by Daisy.
Diet pills are a waste of money, don’t work, and some are actually bad for you. No pill, potion or supplement will help.

All you need to lose weight is a good healthy diet – lots of fruit and veg, and exercise – it takes time and motivation :)

First of all, Lipozene is distributed from the same “company” as Propolene, the other fishy infomercial that claims to magically “burn” off external body fat. The same products contain glucomannan which is just a cute name for a large amount of dietary fiber. Fiber is really good at absorbing water in your intestines so therefore when you consume these products you FEEL like you’ve had enough to eat so therefore, in theory, you would stop eating. Statistically speaking, if you ate less (and in combination had a vigorous exercise program) you would potentially see that you have “burned” off the pounds. The makers of these products do not want to attribute solely that an exercise program will actually make you lose weight; but in reality the complete elimination of processed sugar in combination with an vigorous exercise routine is the only “clinically proven” way to lose weight (whether a person accepts this proposition or not.) Also what is more ironic is how the distributors decide to use the name Lipozene when the actual dietary supplement has nothing to do with liposuction, the exception to the rule of losing weight. Perhaps the distributors wanted instill a “magical burning fat effect” on the potential customers without providing credible support for their claims. Again the individual has to understand that just because a product is advertised, doesn’t mean the product will have to justify all the speaker’s intentions.

I work out regularly and i eat 6 small meals a day and it really does help me shed the lbs. BUT i want to add some type of diet supplement to help burn fat quicker. do these products do that? and if not, do you know of any product i can take to help blast that fat away? Working out and being healthy is great and i know in the long run i will see amazing results but i guess what i’m trying to find out is if there’s anything that can help move the process a little quicker.

A ketogenic diet is useful for rapid fat loss. They take a bit of willpower but work very well to get to fairly low fat levels in a short time. Expect losses of 2-3 lbs. per week. More is possible but anything more than 2 lbs. per week increases risk of muscle loss. The first week, you may lose 5 or more lbs. but most of this will be water loss so start counting your 2 lbs. a week after the first week and try to maintain that level.
Here are several variations of a ketogenic diet:

The fastest way to lose fat is to cut carbs out completely for one to three (or more) weeks depending on how much you have to lose. After that, you eat carbs for a week and then go back to zero carbs, alternating until you get to the fat level you want. You can lose several pounds a week on this diet but it’s rather hard to stick to as you can just eat protein and fats. The upside is that you can eat virtually as much as you want. If you can make it through the first week it’s not so bad. This is known as a ketogenic diet.

A variation of this is the CKD, or Cyclic Ketogenic Diet. With this, you go 5 days without carbs, and 2 days with. This one is better for bodybuilders as the carb days add new life to the workouts, which is maintained almost until the next carb days. The first week is the worst here and after the first carb up you should feel great for the next 3-4 days. This method works well but not quite as fast as the “pure” ketogenic diet.

Another variation is the TKD, or Targeted Ketogenic Diet. This allows for one carb meal on training days, usually taken at least a couple of hours before the workout. With this, you get most of the benefits of a ketogenic diet and the carbs give energy for a better workout. The workout theoretically uses up the carbs eaten allowing the diet to still work.

So, you ask, what can I eat on this diet? Any kind of meat (steak, chicken, seafood, fish, or other type–even hamburgers with no bun, fat in the meat is not a concern), eggs, some dairy products (don’t overdo these), nuts for snacks, diet soda if you need an imitation sugar fix, lots of water and small amounts of dark green vegetables. A multivitamin is also highly recommended, as well as extra vitamin C, E, and B-complex.

What can’t I eat? Any kind of carbohydrate, including rice, pasta, bread, beans, corn, cereals, sugar or anything containing sugar, fruits (contains sugar).
Of course you can eat all of these on the carb up days.
How does it work? In the absence of carbohydrates, the body will use partially burned fat.

I Saw Ads for the Scams “Lipozene” and “Enzyte” Last Night (Comedycentral), Can Either of These Drugs Do What-
-they Claim?

It Appears Comedycentral has Decided to Take the Money Rather than Practice Due Diligence.
Thanks Josh C, What Makes you Think they Can Actually Do What they Claim? Even if One is Taking Them Continuously?
Thanks oldtimekid2, it is Rare that Someone Actually Looks At the Ingredients.
Thanks Opus, So One Can Be Repeatedly Annoyed or Possibly Ripped Off or Sue.
Opus, I don’t Think the Media Outlets Can Shirk their Responsibility for Allowing These Scams and Cons to Be Advertised.
Opus, I’m Not Saying they Need to Be “Watchdogs”, Just Exercise a Minimal Effort, as Part of their Responsibility for the License.
Thanks Sock, Yeah Lies, but for the Deception to Work, they Need the Tacit Approval of the Purveyor.

Yes, they can do what they claim, but if you actually watched the ads, at the bottom it says the effects last only as long as you CONTINUE to take the product. It’s not permanant.

Does the lipozene commercial that says body fat is unattractive bother you?

Does the lipozene commercial that says body fat is unattractive bother you?
I mean, regardless of your PERSONAL opinion, SOME people like BIG women/men. So they can’t say for a fact that it is unattractive, only in the company’s opinion? I think it’s also a bad commercial because if a teenage girl sees that (or anyone) it could be bad for their self esteem and provoke an eating disorder or drug abuse. I’m all for losing weight in a healthy way if you are over weight, but the commerical could be critical for a teenager that’s already dealing with a body image that’s acceptable portrayed by the media.

I think they should say something like “If you have a BMI that is considered overweight, your health could be at risk” or something like that. I think it’s just inappropriate. DO you think the commerical crosses a line?

Hydroycut or Lipozene?

Hydroycut or Lipozene?
First off, I dont need a lecture saying that I need not to use this, I m going into the military, and to make weight they said that I need to lose it, fast, and suggest these. I have to lose a good amount of weight in 6 weeks. I just had a baby 8 week ago, and during my pregnancy I gained 60 pounds, and I am at 215 right now and need to get to AT LEAST 40 pounds.

If neither of these, what product would you suggest? I dont care if Ill be $ #!+ting on the pooper all day to lose it, im willing to try anything.

And yes, I have been exercising, and watching my portions, calories and carb intake.

In my experience, those pills don’t work. Try going on an explicitly low-carb diet, like Atkins. It will make you lose weight very fast. Trust me, I lost 50 pounds in about two months. It’s easy because your body will basically stop craving sweets and carbs and the weight will just come off. FAST.

Does the Lipozene commercial make anybody else crazy irritated?

Does the Lipozene commercial make anybody else crazy irritated?
78% of the weight lost was PURE BODY FAT!!!

No shi? What was the other 22%???? 78% pure… yep. What else has “pure” stated with 78%?

If I tell 78% of the truth, I’m still a liar. This commercial irritates me because “It’s clinically studied, so it’s worth the price”

in small print: an average of less than 4 pounds was lost over 8 weeks. But it’s worth the price?

Walking 15 minutes a day will do the same thing for free.

I’m only as big as the problems I focus on. I watch too much tv.

OMG yes! Those commercials are such BS! Especially the ones that show the split screen with what is supposedly the same person on both sides, but they’re 20-30 pounds lighter on the right, but they are wearing the exact same swimming suit and their hair is the same, etc. It is obvious that it was done with computer editing! Computer editing does not help me when I go to the beach! Sorry, I had to vent for a minute, but yes, those commercials are bogus!
